PRINCIPAL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
Don Naylor, an Honours graduate from the Architecture and Landscape Architecture program at the University of Toronto (1980),
is founder and president of Don Naylor + Associates Ltd. He is a principal Landscape Architect with 21 years of professional
experience, spending most of his career in the private sector. Mr. Naylor is registered in Ontario (OALA), Canada (CSLA), and
the U.S.A. (CLARB). As a member of CLARB, he is the Ontario Chapter Regional Representative to the registration body. He
is also a member of the exam design committee responsible for preparing and managing the vignettes for the L.A.R.E. (Landscape
Architecture Registration Exam).
Mr. Naylor’s specialties include: conceptual and detailed design, environmental and site planning, technical problem solving, and all aspects of project management and contract administration. He has been a principal Landscape Architect since 1983, following
positions as project Landscape Architect with Milus Bollenbergh Topps Watchorn of Toronto and Harmon O’Donnell and Henninger
of Denver Colorado. In addition to managing the Firm, Mr. Naylor is active and involved in all projects and he believes that there
is a critical relationship between corporate size and service quality.
During the late 1990’s and into 2000, Mr.Naylor increased the company’s project portfolio to include a large number of park
projects for municipal clients. These include completed works for the City of Vaughan, the City of Barrie, the City of Mississauga,
and the Town of Markham.
Mr. Naylor has participated in a number of significant Ontario Municipal Board Hearings and is called upon on a regular basis to
provide expert testimony in cases involving environmental, visual and structural issues relating to landscape construction. He is
well versed in environmental legislation and has coordinated several Level 1 and 2 environmental audits for proposed development sites. In addition, he is a member of I.S.A. (International Society of Arborists) and is active in providing clients with tree evaluations
and assessments. Mr. Naylor continues to focus his professional and non-professional efforts towards developing stronger working
relationships with planners and civil engineers.
TINA MCMULLEN. B.E.S., M.L.A., O.A.L.A INTERN
Miss McMullen is a graduate of the University Of Toronto Masters Of Landscape Architecture Program, and holds a Bachelor of Environmental
Studies from York University. Through her education and previous work experience in the field of landscape architecture, Tina brings to
the firm a strong knowledge of theory, conceptual design, and detailed design development. Her responsibilities include preparation of
working drawings and construction documents, and general office administration. She is also well versed in computer technology as it relates
to landscape architecture, and has considerable knowledge of graphic design, graphic software applications, and presentation design and
production.
NICK PIRZAS. B.ARCH.SC., O.A.L.A INTERN
Mr. Pirzas is a graduate from Ryerson Polytechnic University. His prime responsibilities include aiding in conceptual and detailed design
development, preparation of working drawings, construction documents, quantity take-offs, contract administration, and site inspections. His enthusiasm for the profession and his application of extensive technical knowledge, both computer and landscape, to a variety of project types has been a valuable asset to the team since he joined the Firm in September of 2001.
