Urban design simply stated is any design solution within an urban context that has limitations structured by ownership, existing built form and/or infrastructure. Common examples are brown field projects within urban centers and new urban infill projects that result from the demolition of something old to make room for something new. Municipalities anxious to express civic identity and economic vitality are also primary stake-holders in urban design strategies.
