The Firm was introduced to this magnificent waterfront condominium project in Collingwood Ontario in the spring of 2003. Mother nature posed the most interesting challenge associated with this project in that water levels in Georgian Bay are at historical lows. With Bay levels fluctuating as much as a meter it was imperative that environmental features associated with the shoreline were respected and preserved as part of the development approval. In addition, protective armouring of the shore had to be designed in such a way that adequate protection from severe storm events was provided The aesthetic focus associated with easterly views had to be sympathetic to the emerging flood plain vegetation communities that currently blanket the environmentally significant shore zone.
